All products made with parts or derivatives of wildlife comply with applicable national and international legislation and regulations. The crocodile species used are regulated under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), as well as specific laws in each country. In Mexico, regulation is governed by the Ley General de Vida Silvestre y su Reglamento, under the supervision of the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) and the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA). In the United States, crocodile-derived products must comply with the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and the Lacey Act, under the authority of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and other regulatory agencies. In Canada, trade in these products is subject to the Wild Animal and Plant Protection and Regulation of International and Interprovincial Trade Act (WAPPRIITA) and is overseen by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
