Its scale structure is one of moreletii’s most distinctive qualities. For a comparable belly width, its scales are finer and more compact, with broader plates along the center of the belly gradually giving way to smaller, tighter scales toward the flanks. The transition is smooth rather than abrupt, creating a quiet, balanced pattern with a natural rhythm of its own.

This progression — from central belly plates to finer lateral scales — gives moreletii its particular character. Together with its supple hand, this structure makes it especially sought after by those who understand precious skins.
